Edward “Ed” Birch, President & CEO of the Mosher Foundation, serves as Trustee of the Margaret Mosher Trust and the Clement Connolly Charitable Trust. He is Chairman Emeritus of the former Santa Barbara Bank & Trust and Pacific Capital Bancorp. Dr. Birch has more than 40 years of experience in senior executive corporate and higher education positions, including at the University of California, Westmont College and Pacific Capital Bancorp. He also served as Vice President of the highly successful 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The author of several monographs and scholarly papers, Dr. Birch has consulted widely in the areas of business and organizational development and is the recipient of several national and local recognition awards. He holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

Dr. Birch has chaired and served on numerous local and national boards, including Cottage Health Systems; the University of California, Santa Barbara Foundation; Westmont College; the Channel City Club; Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute; Laguna Blanca School; Arlington Center for the Performing Arts; Community Arts Music Association; California State University Channel Islands; the Santa Barbara Club; United Way; and the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara.
