Alixe Mattingly has 30 years of experience in public affairs, media relations, and brand management. She has held senior communications positions at the Santa Barbara Foundation, Direct Relief International, and Davies Public Affairs.
Prior to moving to Santa Barbara in 2000, Ms. Mattingly worked in Washington D.C. as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
Her government credentials include serving as Deputy Press Secretary under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, and as Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services. Active as a spokesperson in six presidential elections from 1980-2000, Ms. Mattingly was also formerly a producer of CNN’s nightly television program “Crossfire.”
Ms. Mattingly has served on the boards and advisory committees of several Santa Barbara area nonprofit organizations, including the Museum of Exploration and Innovation (MOXI); Direct Relief International; Storyteller Children’s Center; Hospice of Santa Barbara, Inc.; Ganna Walska Lotusland; the Alzheimer’s Association; and Laguna Blanca School.
